Supporting George

Today coach George Karl held a press conference to announce that he has been diagnosed with neck and throat cancer.  Six weeks ago Karl found a lump on his next, which a biopsy confirmed to be squamos cell head/neck cancer.  The good news is that the biopsy also showed it to be a “very treatable and curable” form of cancer.  Over the next six weeks, Karl will undergo chemo and radiation therapy that has been described as intense and aggressive, which will take a physical toll, forcing Karl to most likely miss multiple practices and games.  Although this does hold serious implications for the Nuggets, this is a situation in which my beloved Nuggs take secondary concern to the health of Coach Karl.  Sadly this will be the second time he has to battle cancer, as he is already a survivor of prostate cancer (was declared cancer free in July 2005).

I think I speak for us all when I say we are hoping, praying, and wishing for the return of your health, as quickly and painlessly as possible. Give ‘er hell George.

Its sad to hear that Coach Karl has cancer again. He is a strong man and I know he can fight through. What a win tonight though. Melo and Bron going back and forth with Melo getting the best of Bron.

Man that really stinks for Coach Karl and the Nugs. I am really glad it is treatable. Coach Karl is lucky in one area, he does not have a whole lot of hair to loose as a result of kemo therapy. Go Nugs!

Already a cancer survivor, it is upseting to hear that George Karl is having to deal cancer once again. However I am happy to hear that the cancer is very treatable, the only thing I worry is that all of this make have an effect on the Nuggs who have been doing great as of late. George you will be in our prayers.

This sucks for the nuggets. I didn’t know that Karl had cancer before. Hopefully he will recover quickly and be ready for the nuggets when they go into the playoffs. The team seems to be rallying around him so far.
